Jan 13, 2027 - May 12, 2027
To the citizens of San Andreas, legislative leaders, and our partners at the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL):
Pursuant to Article V, Section 8 of the Constitution of the State of San Andreas, I am pleased to formally announce that the Seventy-Eighth General Assembly will convene its First Regular Session on Wednesday, January 13, 2027, at 10:00 a.m. The session will run for its full constitutional duration of one hundred and twenty calendar days and is scheduled to adjourn sine die on Wednesday, May 12, 2027.
This calendar reflects our commitment to making full and effective use of the time entrusted to us by the people of San Andreas. By convening promptly following the swearing-in of elected officials on Tuesday, January 12, 2027, the General Assembly will begin its work without delay, ensuring that critical legislative priorities—ranging from public safety and infrastructure to education and economic development—are addressed in a timely and responsible manner. The structure of the session also allows for meaningful public engagement at every stage of the legislative process.
To the residents of our state, your voice remains central to this work. We encourage you to participate in hearings, provide testimony, and communicate with your elected representatives as legislation is considered. Transparency, accessibility, and accountability will continue to guide the operations of this body throughout the session.
To our legislative leaders and members, this schedule provides a clear and disciplined framework for the introduction, consideration, and passage of legislation. The midpoint of the session will occur in mid-March, providing a natural benchmark for evaluating progress and ensuring that measures receive thorough and timely review.
Finally, we share this announcement with our colleagues at the National Conference of State Legislatures in the spirit of continued collaboration and the exchange of best practices among state legislatures nationwide. We remain committed to upholding the highest standards of legislative governance and institutional integrity.
We look forward to a productive and thoughtful session that reflects the priorities and values of the people we serve.
Respectfully,
Office of Legislative Services
Legislative Council
Brooke Suarez, Speaker of the House of Representatives
Benjamin Harrison, President of the Senate
