The General Assembly of the State of San Andreas convenes in regular legislative session each year, as required by the State Constitution. Each regular session begins in January and is limited to a maximum of 120 calendar days. During this period, lawmakers introduce, debate, and enact legislation affecting communities across the state.
Each calendar year corresponds to a new General Assembly, reflecting the state’s annual November elections. As a result, the membership of the legislature may change each year, and each newly seated body is assigned a sequential General Assembly number. For example:
2024 marked the Seventy-Fifth General Assembly,
2025 marked the Seventy-Sixth General Assembly,
and 2026 marks the Seventy-Seventh General Assembly.
and so on
Every General Assembly holds at least one regular session. Any additional sessions held outside the regular session period must be convened as special sessions, which may only be called by the Governor.
These General Assembly numbers are used to organize legislative records, bills, and official documents in the state archives. Visitors can explore materials by General Assembly to trace the development of state law, view historical legislation, and study the actions taken by members over time.
The archive preserves the work of each General Assembly—including enrolled bills, resolutions, journals, and session summaries—to ensure transparency, accountability, and public access to the legislative process.
