Concerning the confirmation of the Governor’s appointment of the Honorable Elaine D. Bennett to the San Andreas State Supreme Court.

WHEREAS, Article VI, Section 2 of the Constitution of the State of San Andreas vests the judicial power of the State in a Supreme Court and such inferior courts as the Legislature may establish, and provides that each justice of the Supreme Court shall be appointed by the Governor from a list of three persons submitted by the Judicial Nominating Commission and confirmed by 55 percent of the Legislature; and

WHEREAS, under Section 5 of Article VI, the Judicial Nominating Commission is charged with reviewing applications and recommending the most qualified candidates for judicial appointments; and

WHEREAS, the Judicial Nominating Commission has reviewed all applications for the vacancy on the San Andreas State Supreme Court and transmitted to the Governor a list of three distinguished nominees; and

WHEREAS, from that list, the Governor has nominated the Honorable Elaine D. Bennett, whose distinguished career in public service and jurisprudence reflects integrity, diligence, and an unwavering commitment to the rule of law; and

WHEREAS, Judge Bennett has served with distinction on the San Andreas Court of Appeals for the past ten years, issuing numerous opinions that have strengthened the consistency and fairness of state jurisprudence; and

WHEREAS, prior to her service on the Court of Appeals, Judge Bennett served for eighteen years on the Alameda County District Court, where she earned a reputation for fairness, legal expertise, and dedication to justice; and

WHEREAS, the House of Representatives, having reviewed the qualifications, professional experience, and record of judicial service of Judge Bennett, finds her fully qualified to assume the duties and responsibilities of Associate Justice of the San Andreas State Supreme Court; now, therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF SAN ANDREAS:

That the House of Representatives hereby confirms the appointment of Elaine D. Bennett as Associate Justice of the San Andreas State Supreme Court, to serve according to law and the Constitution of the State of San Andreas; provided, however, that upon confirmation by the Legislature, Justice Bennett shall not be sworn into office until the first week of January 2026, at which time she shall assume the duties of Associate Justice.
